"SwiftGrade is an online quiz tool โ teachers create questions in the app and learners answer them on their own devices."
SwiftGrade is not an online quiz tool. Learners write their answers by hand on a printed SwiftGrade answer sheet โ just like a traditional test. The teacher's job in SwiftGrade is to enter the correct answers (the memo) for the question paper that has already been created separately. The AI then marks the hand-written scripts by scanning them.
"SwiftGrade's paper mode only supports multiple choice questions โ learners cannot write words or sentences on the answer sheet."
SwiftGrade offers four question types: multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank (where learners write actual words), process + answer (for showing maths working), and free response (for sentences and paragraphs). The fill-in-the-blank option is especially powerful โ the AI can read hand-written words, provided learners write big, write in the blocks, and do not use cursive.
"If a SwiftGrade assessment consists only of multiple choice questions, the results are available instantly as soon as the scanning is complete โ with no manual review required."
Because multiple choice answers are unambiguous โ the learner fills in a circle โ SwiftGrade can mark them with 100% accuracy and display the results the moment you press submit. This is why many teachers prefer to start with multiple choice only: learners can see their results right away, and the teacher can immediately identify which questions to revisit.
"Because SwiftGrade uses AI to mark learners' work, teachers can trust all results completely and do not need to review any of the AI's decisions."
SwiftGrade will sometimes flag answers for teacher review โ especially with fill-in-the-blank questions โ because learners have different handwriting styles. The AI may misread a word or mark a correct answer as incorrect. SwiftGrade itself reminds you: "Please make sure to double check my work." The teacher remains the professional in charge; SwiftGrade is a powerful tool, not a replacement for your judgement.
